Unlike social media posts or search queries, ChatGPT interactions often involve deeply personal disclosures. Users frequently turn to the bot for emotional support, mental health advice, or even as a confidant. The lawsuit arrives amid growing scrutiny of AI companies' data practices. Earlier this year, a similar complaint was filed against Perplexity, another AI search tool, but was voluntarily dismissed. In that case, the plaintiff alleged that his use of Perplexity for legal and financial advice was shared with Google and Meta through tracking technologies, including Meta Pixel and Google DoubleClick.
